I know, I know, the trucks share little in common.

I want to buy a new half ton. Basically a super crew lariat with most the options and an eco-boost.

Wifes wants us to buy a new super duty, again, all the options(no KR).

Which would you have?

Tough one. Depends on what you would use the truck for. Both have relatively good power with good gas mileage. Do you need the power of the SD? do you tow any big loads?

I think a lot would depend on what you are planning on towing with with the truck and if you don't mind paying for the price of diesel and the maintenance

Eco-Boost would be nice I would love to test drive one of those
I've driven 2-3 of them now. they are pretty sweet. Only weird part is they are very quiet. So when you hammer down, you get almost no noise

one ton with the 6.2L
No. they are garbage to drive, with garbage mileage. I test drove one, for about 3 blocks and took it back. Plus, a loaded 6.2 is hard to find.
The 6.2 in the half ton is rated at like 14mpg. The eco-boost is rated at 21, and the 6.7 is getting about 18 in mixed driving for those i know with one.

oil burner FTW IMH(umble)O
I've owned a few diesels(96 7.3, 99 7.3, 03 6.0 and 08 6.4) so i am familiar with the cost and such. I honestly have no need for a truck at all. I tow nothing, ever. My tahoe suits us just fine, but my wife comes from a farm, and hates not driving a truck every day. And we all know if wifey isnt happy... well you know the rest.

Here are a few of them
