If that does happen though, I'm going to need a lot more than a level 5...

We'll see, I'll research some stuff. I do trust Andy, but his job is also to sell things.
Just send it back and upgrade to a Lvl 7 or your gonna need to go 4l80e sometime. Are you upgrading your driveshaft or rearend? Are you gonna at least go with a detroit true track or something?

I will eventually, but not this go-around. I'm hoping I'll be able to just use 4wd without breaking too much stuff for now.

Long term plan is a locked 14b SF (out of a 2wd SS, or VMax). I like the idea of a selectable locker, so right now I'm leaning towards an e-locker, but I haven't started to really research it.

And I've been doing some reading over on PT.net, and it sounds like it'd be dumb not to go with the billet shaft. SHIT!

yep, that seems to be the weak link in these transmissions. some guys even destroy the billet ones so its a no-brainer to go billet. its just sucks that they are so expensive.

Now I'm finding some stuff that's swaying me the other way...

If I do ever add significantly more power, it's going to be quite a while down the road, and it would only happen if I've got a much better source of income. An upgraded trans will be much more affordable then.

I just have to make sure I'm not going to be going through output shafts constantly. I wish there was something in the middle.
