I've been using Fuel Friend Lite on my Droid, it does all this for you and you can export it to Excel too

Pretty damn cool... I couldnt do it... id lose track of my stuff hahaha.
I tried to do it but after about 2 months of gas tickets in my console I throw them out
What is the difference of mpg's between 93 and 87?
Correct, that's why I'm curious to see how much worse fuel mileage he got on 87 cause that's not very good for 93 imo. What is the difference of mpg's between 93 and 87?
It is possible to get better mileage on higher octane gasoline if you up the timing a few degrees. When I tried it I had an increase that nearly justified the higher cost per gallon but it hurt to watch how much each fill up cost.

very cool. i would have trouble keeping up with all that.
What kind of trend line is that? I tried to get something similar but couldn't figure out what you did. Is that the 2 period average? I'm slowly getting the hang of Excel's more technical features. I got spoiled by having JMP for a long time.

When I fill up I use the Notes feature on my phone and enter the total mileage on the truck, the price per gallon and how many gallons go in until the fuel pump clicks off (no topping off). Then when after I've got a couple fill ups logged, I'll put them into the excel spread sheet that calculates everything. With this method, I never have to keep track of receipts or any paperwork.
It's not too bad once you get in the habit.
