Nah, you will be swapping in a 6.0Everyone has really touched base on what I was going to say. I think the 269 cam is perfectly fine for a mediumish 5.3 build. It's bigger than Dan has in his 6.0. Pair it with a 3k stall and it will move very nicely.

The 212/218 with a stock converter in a RCSB would be pretty fun. Won't have a whole lot off the line, but that's not a horrible thing as far as traction goes. Any reason you're going to do rod bolts on such a mild/simple setup? Most guys don't do the rod bolts unless they're going to be boosted, or spinning the crap out of the engine (I'm still on the stockers). Also, how man miles are on the 5.3?
