I woild like to see around 350 to 400. But realibility and fuel mileage are more of what I an concerned with. This truck will be a driver and not a racer. I want it to look good with out a lot of kick.
Are 350’s still easy to get? If so, how would you build it?

A 350 with 305 heads and a mild cam would be power enough for any daily driver. As far as dressing up the engine it dosnt matter what size it is. It should all cost about the same
I have a built 350 with about 400hp to the crank if you would want to come get it. It wont fit in the truck i want it in.

There are plenty of traditional small blocks still out there, and they ar still heavily supported by the aftermarket.

I have looked at YearOne engine deals beofre. They appear pretty damn affordable.
WHen I go through with this biuld I really want to biuld my own engine though. I know crate engines have gotten so affordable now it actually can cost more to biuld my own. But biulding a 350 from the block up is something I have always wanted to do.

Not just that, the cost of the machine work can kill an engine biuld before it starts.
The old small blocks out of chevy 1500s can be bought for $200-$300. Most just need a lil honing if anything. That can be done at your house. Kits for them are cheap too. last one we rebuilt only cost us maybe $300 total. That includes a mild cam from Napa.
