I had a friend who bent it at the top at a 90* angle. IT looked weird but it served its purpose.

There way a guy by the name of GARB55 who did this mod.

Instead of patching the hole like he did, people say just put some tape over the old hole and use black silicone to fill it from the reverse side........Let it dry then remove the tape

I relocated my antenna as I have always disliked them on the front fender area. Would have liked to relocate and installed an electric one but not happening this time around.

1.) This is what I did. This mod was Previous done by Daddy! (Click Here)

i've seen those relocation jobs a few times, but with Ford, you're going to have a hole in the fender. So unless someone has the money to have that repaired, cant work.

Man, between emblem positioning holes and fender mounted antennas, you Ford guys really get screwed. :(

Best crash test rating, fully boxed frame, and 10k pound towing capacity, yeah guess we did :jester:

But yeah, none of that bothers me really, but I can see how its an inconvenience. But how many other vehicles out there are stub mounted? 99% of them. Until GM started doing that in the Wiper cowl I never knew anyone did that. I like it. Would be nice if antennas were just black stubs on roofs like for XM for example.

That looks pretty good. I did the antenna delete on my truck, I thought I would pick up something in downtown Houston but the only thing it picks up is static. I may eventually do something like visegrip did.

Well that little Ford antenna is a start to a fix, but looks goofy. I'd rather have a black stub left inplace. I still haven't cut the tip of mine yet . Been procrastinating on it. But I haven't been putting the truck in the garage so that gives me a reason. I'll get to it one of these days.

Thread dig.

Does anyone know anything about these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hot-Rod-Car...3814?pt=US_Radio_Antennas&hash=item5d35ea4406
Their claims are a little high, I think, but if it works as well as my old one, I'd be happy. Someone stole my shorty antenna, so I'm planning on having this, running the cable up the a-pillar, and hiding that receiver above my headliner. Then I would just get the fender hole stud removed, fill the hole, and get it painted.

What do y'all think? Any recommendations?
