Smaller diameter track tires would put you over the 100 MPH barrier. They would effectively lower your final drive ratio (as you know) and give you more pull in third.

Nice video. I love the crisp shifts. It looks (and sounds) like you have her dialed in pretty damn good.

Yeah Justin did a great job with the tuning. There are a few issues under daily driving (mainly just me being unhappy with when the trans shifts), but when I get on it, it does exactly what it should.

Hey Dan, did you happen to see what the P-stroke did?

I did not. I did see a TON of black smoke though. And judging by every other diesel I've seen run there that blow a ton of smoke, it probably wasn't impressive. This isn't a big diesel area.

That sucker is doing one helluva nice 0-60.

Sweet!

Yeah from what I can tell with the video and a stopwatch, it's somewhere between 4.8-5.0 seconds. I'll take that. :D

Yeah that about sums it up... Tons of smoke is a product of piss poor tuning...

Those fuggin strokes are heavy too. My neighbors weighed 2000lbs heavier than my Dmax...

My next set of everyday tires will be 1.5" shorter, and the wheels will be lighter. At this point, I'm going to put the money towards making it run well at the track on my everyday setup. Once I've maxed that out, I'll consider slicks, but I want it to be as quick on the street as it is on the track more than anything right now.

Yeah the diesel guys around here are more interested in blowing smoke than going anywhere. I still want to line up against one of the guys from my town who thinks his SD on 37s with a programmer is a race truck. :D

have you done anything to save weight?

like remove spare tire, tow hooks, skid plates, hitch, or anything like that?

also the tailgate comes off in 1 min and that would be a good 35-40 pounds

I have no spare currently, tow hooks are still needed, as is the skidplate (which is aluminum, and weighs about 3 lbs. max). I still use the hitch occasionally too. Even though I take this thing to the track constantly, it still needs to be able to do everything a truck is supposed to do (except for ground clearance related things ).

Yesterday at the track I had the tonneau off, bedliner out, and tailgate off. BUT, I had about 40lbs more fuel than last time, and a bit of a headwind which hurt my times.

What a piece.

I'll meet you halfway, Dan and without a doubt destroy you in a race.
