    4 New Pads And Rotors

What's wrong with Semi-metallic? Isn't that what came stock on early GMT800's? I heard that ceramic doesn't have the initial bite that other pads have and I worry because I do a long freeway ride to work and with cold brakes, I need that initial bite when a jerk cuts me off (daily occurrence).

    Shocks

I still have the original factory shocks (Nivomat rpo ZW7) and I am still happy with them at 150k. Will Bilstiens last that long? I consider my ride a luxury truck and want to keep it that way. I only hope I can find a comparable replacement for them for less than the $1,200 tag on new...

    6:45am; Dark; 50mph; BIG puddle --> P0138

After it IS dried out and working, I would think using something like lamp grease would work to keep it groovy. Those 99 cent chem packs at the auto store checkout lines are pretty handy. Ed

    Lawn tractor pulls....

And that's why ya don't let the wimmin' folk drive the tractors. Wussies :loser: Actually, I get to do that every time I pull my boat out of the yard to go fishin'.. Now that I look at it.. maybe it should go in the "Show us your FAIL" section.

Installing a front mounted receiver on a Tahoe.

That winch is for my tractor and to pull stuff onto my trailers. I just wanted to have some fun and see how it looked on the truck. Okay, from the beginning. There are a LOT of crappy drivers here. When they get stuck during bad weather, snow, and block a road they inconvenience ME as I...

Installing a front mounted receiver on a Tahoe.

Since I went picture happy, the write up has been placed on my Google photo album. The link is http://picasaweb.google.com/grebbler/20091130FrontHitch?authkey=Gv1sRgCPiO_5mdsbiH3wE&feat=directlink I hope it helps someone. :D2 Ed ps It's easier to follow along if you click the first pic to...

Evap Vent Valve (New & Improved) P/N 10382105 Valve bracket for above P/N 15105605 Evap Solenoid (New New & Improved #25932571 I don't know what bracket the last one takes. People have just been using cable ties. I took mine apart and cleaned it real well about 10k miles ago when it...

They just don't make trucks like they used to.

No, they aren't what they used to be and that's both good and bad. In the "olde days", trucks just weren't made for the mass market. Somehow they became popular and trendy and they started to get more car like. Now the mfg's HAD a mass market that out stripped the genuine need for a seriously...

    Alternating Headlights

If yer a tightwad you can get away with just 1 relay and a cheap 536 flasher. I had done a number of these on head and tail lights as a group of us were volunteers with Sheriff and fire dept's for natural disasters. Much cheaper than mini lightbars or a decent rotator. Side story: I had even...

    GMT800 P0442

The evap vent solenoid valve is intermittently acting up. This shuts off the tank vent tube and makes the fill tube fool the nozzle into thinking the tank is full because of the back pressure. The vent tube could also be plugged with something. It's like using a gas can without opening the...

    Pennzoil Platinum

I like Synthetic and I had ran PP, M1 and Max-life for a bit. I noticed that the synth kept coming out much dirtier which make sense given the cleaning properties of this stuff. I didn't see the point of longer OCI's or wasting high grade oil when I am going to change it in 3k, anyway, due to...

Crew Cab 8ft. Bed Why Are they NOT Popular

I agree that REAL trucks have 8 foot beds and the CC version was about as manly as I could get. But after much therapy dealing with compensation issues I have become happy in a smaller truck :) Actually, having to park in the RV section all the time and having a turning radius that required a...
