It's the Baker Snowqualmie National Forest, so the DNR?? They section off the forest and you can collect tops, trunks, or dead fall. They have alot more areas open this year due to the wind storm.

The last wind storm we had knocked down alot of trees. People are going out and cutting up firewood without getting a permit. Permits are $50 and you can pull out 8 cords per year. But some are cheating the system. I went about 15 miles on the service road until I got to the slide zone...

Got her extremely dirty and stuffed with snow. Climbed her over several snow plow lines and up to then down from 5500 feet. But she performed for me as she always does. Kept me warm and cozy with the Bleu dog thru the night.

It was about 30 during the day and about 15 at night depending on how high we were.

It was alot of fun. Three days, two nights. Found out the plow drivers lock the gates after 1000. So I was stuck up there for a while.

Jim, you are so correct. I refuse to up date mine with something new until Ford's designing contract it up and Tata unleashes the new ones in '12. Ford ruined these and made them ugly. I have never had an issue other than little things on my '04. And the 2 old ones are like tanks.
