Someone needs to look up the word DEMOGRAPHIC. NWASCAR

I wonder if it will have truck nuts hanging from the rear bumper? Or some fake side fender vents that stick on with double sided tape. Those would look good right next to the real fender vents.

    Project: Papa’s Dodge, stage one.

So you'd essentially just be using the old factory mat as a backer for your new carpet. And it's a template too. A LOT easier that trying to just cut carpet from scratch.

It does not have 26 inch rims on it, I call bullshit. :D

    Project: Papa’s Dodge, stage one.

For the floor, I would see if you can find a replacement/ reproduction carpet mat for the floor. If its too hard to locate one or if you find one but its way too expensive, then you still have another option. And this is probably what I would end up doing. I had a friend with a base model work...

Can't believe he's getting ready to turn 1.

Yep. Seems like just yesterday my son was just starting kindergarten. And now he is 15 and already driving. But we've been paying $194 a month just to add him to the insurance. And he doesn't even have an actual drivers license yet its just a learners permit. Myself or my wife HAS to be in...

    No. Just no.

    Pinging

My brother bough a 94 Suburban years ago with 200k miles on it that was pinging really bad. But he got it for SUPER cheap, so he still bought it. Tried several things, but ultimately he ended up having to run 93 octane in it all the time. If he filled it with 87, the pinging would come right...

    Instrument Cluster

I think 94 and older were the ones with those flimsy "ribbon type" circuit boards, but I may be wrong. But as far as your problem, try putting the stock bulbs back in and see if that gets rid of the problem. If it does, then that tells you that at least one of the bulbs is causing the problem...

    WTF, slims???

Yep. **** THAT TRUCK. If you have full coverage insurance in effect, and the dealer doesn't take it back, tKe it to the boat launch to go fishing. And just hope those brakes keep the truck from sliding down into the water with the boat............:ninja:

Which Dealer is it? A major dealer or a small used car lot?

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Looked at it and started thinking about how the hell I am gonna change the oil being that I am crippled right now. My son need to learn more, it's time. I think I'm gonna make him get under there and do it, and I'll just talk him through it. :dunno:

    WTF, slims???

I love my Burban. And an Avalanche is basically a Subrban with a bed instead of the cargo area and third row seat. So you will like it. Especially the way it rides. My Suburban rides FAR better than any Pickup with leaf springs that I have ridden in OR driven. At first I thought my father in...

    WTF, slims???

Rear pads? An 06 should have drum brakes in the rear. And I wouldn't replace the pads without at least having the rotors resurfaced. And most shops will hit you for around $15-$20 to do each brake rotor. I'm not exactly sure what they cost now, but when I bought my Powerstop rotors, that were...

    WTF, slims???

Yes, I know how to replace the backlighting with LEDs (or stock bulbs) and I also know how to replace the stepper motors, but that's all I know how to do with those clusters. And I won't be coming down for quite a few more months. I just had major back surgery barely two weeks ago, so no road...

    WTF, slims???

Oh, and you said it needs brakes. I highly recommend the setup that I have. The Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramic pads (which a lot of other folks on here will recommend as well) and I have Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors. Both of which can be obtained from Rockauto, but I got my rotors on EBay...

    WTF, slims???

Looks like a pretty decent truck, hope you got a good deal on it. I would definitely invest in a Blackbear tune. He usually comes to NOLA at least once a year, so you can do the in-person tune, or else get an Autocal and get it tuned via email.

    Did it again

Actually it doesn't. I use the Rain-X washer fluid as well. It does work better than nothing at all. But it works FAR better if you actually apply the rain-x to the glass at least once a month or so.

    Did it again

I apply Rain-x to all the glass on my truck after every wash. People who never use it will be astonished at how well it works. The water just glides right off at speeds over 40mph. I usually don't even use my wipers unless it REALLY raining bad, or if I'm driving so slow that the water doesn't...

    Did it again

I had a bug deflector for a while. Only reason I bought it was because I kept getting but guts all over my hood during road trips. It did keep the bugs off the hood, but they still splattered all over the bumper, grill and lights, and also on the windshield. It also created a lot of turbulence...

What Did You Do To Your Truck Today? v2.0

Wiped down the side of it last night with Adams waterless wash and detail spray. Somebody decided to pour a drink out the window and got most of it all down the side of my truck. :fume:
