When you coming back down here Scott? The instrument cluster needs some work. Don't you know a little about that? :jester:

Oh, and you said it needs brakes. I highly recommend the setup that I have. The Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramic pads (which a lot of other folks on here will recommend as well) and I have Powerstop drilled and slotted rotors. Both of which can be obtained from Rockauto, but I got my rotors on EBay and my pads from Advance Auto Parts. Back when I bought my rotors, Rockauto didn't carry Powerstop brake parts. I installed those brakes on my truck back in 2009 or 2010 and they greatly improved the stopping power compared to the stock brakes, which actually still had some life left in them. The main reason I changed them is because the rotors were warped, I had BAD vibrations when slowing down pretty quickly.

Yes, I know how to replace the backlighting with LEDs (or stock bulbs) and I also know how to replace the stepper motors, but that's all I know how to do with those clusters. And I won't be coming down for quite a few more months. I just had major back surgery barely two weeks ago, so no road trips for me for quite a few months. I have titanium rods, pins, and screws in my spine now. My nephew's birthday is in October, so I think we will be going down for that.

That sucks dude.

The rotors are good. Little to no wear on em.. The pads rear and front needs changing though.

Rear pads? An 06 should have drum brakes in the rear.
And I wouldn't replace the pads without at least having the rotors resurfaced. And most shops will hit you for around $15-$20 to do each brake rotor. I'm not exactly sure what they cost now, but when I bought my Powerstop rotors, that were actually cheaper than parts store rotors. They were about $100 a pair shipped, and most rotors from even Autozone are around $50 each or so. So it was a no brained for me. I bought my rotors from a seller on EBay called Brakemotive, so go search their current prices. I bet they are cheaper than you would expect.

UPDATE: I just checked, and they are $93 shipped for a set of front rotors. (Provided you do indeed have the drum brakes in the rear, that's the rotors you will need).

I've never heard of an 06 having 4 wheel disc brakes, but it did actually come up as an option when searching for rotors. If you have 4 wheel disc, then the front brakes will be different. They will be smaller.

5.3 with aftermarket heads, cam and other mods. 2 wheel drive. Truck hauls ass.. It pulls so much air that the stock air tube collapses when you rev it. I need to put a good CAI on it. The truck was made into a drag truck and now is being converted back to a street truck.

The stock air tube collapsing when you rev it sounds like the air filter is clogged and it is trying to get air in. Take the filter out and put the cover back on and see what happens. Go get a new Fram air filter from Walmart. I have had good used oil analysis come back from running them so they are a decent filter to use.

It has the aftermarket air box and filter. They just used the same stock tube. The throttle body is big and it sticks out farther than a stock one.

Im with Nick, the tube shouldn't collapse unless the filter is clogged. There no way you are sucking that much air.

You have pics of the engine? Im intrigued about the throttle body.

When you mean drag truck, what have they done to it? I saw cam, intake and heads. What cam and heads? They tune and put in a converter?

Well... Id take a picture but I backed out and got my money back. The truck ended up needing a lot of work. (More than the worth of the truck).

So now I'm back looking and I'm thinking about buying this one..
