I've been wondring if its possible for me to add a power liftgate option to my Suburban. I know it was an option on the 07+ Tahoes, burban, and Yukons, but never saw it on a GMT800. I've never seen anyone do it yet and was just wondering if you guys had any ideas or opinions on it. I'd be happy if I could at least get it to do power lift, and I'd have to manually close it. Any ideas???:dunno:

does your whole door open in the back or do you have the split type rear door? you could easily "make" something, dunno if the factory stuff can install from a GMT-900. :dunno: But with some electrical creativity, anything can be made to work.

I'm not worried about wiring it up, I KNOW that can be done. Its the actual mounting the lift rod, and changing the latch if needed. I dunnno what all would be involved. AS for the door design, the whole door lifts up in one peice, like a hatchback car or wagon. The window can also be opened on its own, but the whole hatch can open regardless if the window is open or not. The window doesn't have to be opened first if thats what you were trying to ask.

I've never seen one on a GMT800 Scott. I'd bet it can be done.

He was referring to the barn door style.

But as far as practicality, the liftgate makes more sense:D It lifts up and out of the way, plus the window isnt split, allowing more visibility. And since its one solid window, it is able to have a rear wiper, therefore increasing the visibility even more. Its a win-win-win all around.
