Took it out to the lake yesterday and beat it up on some rutted dirt, rock, and sand roads. Handled them all like a champs, way smoother than the HD Sierra and TRD Taco I road in while I was out there. Guess independent suspension at all four corners isn't so bad after all.

Took my exhaust parts, seats, and front diff (all for the S10) to my grandma's. Later I need to work on my HID's....again! :frustration: I'm having a problem with the same side again. I'm hoping that the bulb has just been "shocked" so much from the first time the ballast went out. I think all the extra on/off cycles shortened the life-cycle. I have an extra bulb and ballast so I'll be troubleshooting later once the sun goes down.

What kind of problem are you having Matt?
Well, since you asked.

The driver's side bulb is taking 3-5x longer to turn on than the pass. side. The pass. turns on just fine without a problem. The driver's side starts out extremely dim. The bulb starts out very dim and blue, warms up slowly, and eventually makes it's way to matching the pass side.

Last time, when the ballast was bad, the bulb saw a lot of extra/excessive on/off cycles. Finally, the bulb wouldn't even light up anymore. I tried the bulb on a different ballast (at that time) and the bulb was good so I send the ballast back for a replacement. I believe this has stressed the bulb and is hopefully the cause of my problems.

I'm still waiting for the sun to go down more before taking the front of my truck apart....again. The parking lights, grill, and driver's headlight have to come out.

Alright, I took the grill off, tried a different bulb on the ballast and had the same thing happen (slow turn-on). Then I tried a the existing bulb with a new ballast, no problem. So it must be a ballast problem....again!! :frustration: If DDM doesn't honor their "lifetime warranty", I won't have HID's for the S10 and I'll have to find another HID source. Why am I the only one having problems with DDM? :dunno: :nonod:

Anyone have any other good places to go?

EDIT: Just found on their site that they are still selling HID kits??? I thought they stopped selling them. :dunno:

I've sent them a "ticket" stating my problem and how I troubleshooted it. We'll see how long it takes for them to get back to me.

Drove it 380mi to pick up the seats and tube.

The seats are not torn, but are worn. I ended up getting the entire front diff. assembly with the tube. I didn't feel like trying to yank the shaft out of the diff and breaking something. $75 for the pair of seats and $50 for the diff. Pics to come tomorrow.

I got my best ever MPG with the truck. 20.11MPG!!!! :willy: :wookie: $68 of 91 octane. That's doing 60mph the entire way and only stepping on it 4 or 5 times, but keeping it under 3k.

That's about what I get with mine!
.... at 70 MPH :D

And if you're staying under 3k, you're not stepping on it :D2
I'm still jumping for joy after that fillup! :D You're not comparing apples to apples. I've got older technology, a 4spd auto, 3.42's, and 31" tires. I was running 1500-1600rpm the whole way. And I was trying to stay off the "go" pedal. There wasn't really a need to step on it other than those 4 or 5 times.

I have the same transmission, 3.73s and an extra 1300lbs of weight :dunno:
Equals out :D

Just buggin' ya :)

My dad's 1993 Suburban would average 22 MPG... But my dad is never in a rush

Really, the 900's are that much heavier than the 400's? Wow! And I thought you had the 6spd.
