Rolled 4k so far for the trip. Lots of slow, slow seat time. This is the last 1/2 ton truck I will own. fWONk mountains.

Why is this the last 1/2 ton truck you will own? You want something bigger or :dunno:?

Yeah, I know what you mean. As much as I loved Ol' Blue, I knew that I would be back in a 2500 after yankin' travel trailers around the mountains

Hope you are havin a great time, Kevin!

He probably wants a diesel, but for me it was the brakes, stability, and handling. I had my 1/2 ton set up fine, but it just wasnt the same. You would be pretty worn out by the time you got to where you were going in the mountains with a half ton.

I should give my truck more credit, we are loaded down and it hasn't complained once. I might hit A CAT scale and see how heavy the trailer and truck really are.

Let me rephrase it, I will not go west of the Rockies (or through Alaska :D (our next big trip)towing a trailer with a 1/2 ton.

We are having a blast, great trip! Where in Oregon are you Scott? I thought you were in Washington the whole time. Should have tried to find you.

I want the diesel, the brakes, and a less stressful drive.

At one point I couldn't gain speed going downhill. I'm serious too. :(
Flat ground is absolutely fine, I could run a constant 75 if I wanted too. Hills and passes are slow and no fun.

Gonna figure out why the back glass on the end gate won't roll up. Checked all the fuses. There all good. Now gonna try to check the switch. If it's not that I guess I am tearing into the end gate to check the motor then trace the wiring.

A set of REALLY LONG leads can be a real time saver.
