Could be, how many miles on it? I am having simular issues, but i think I have a collapsed lifter.

Also, you can hook up a timing light and check the timing and also look at the crank pully with that light, it if looks like a certain spot on it is bouncing around you got a worn timing chain.

Yea, my dad said it may need to have the timing chain and gears replaced.

I just put a $1000 set of heads om mine, the old one cracked in 2 spots, and now I have a bad miss, I think I have a collapsed lifter. I really don;t feel like tearing this thing apart again.

Timing chain job aint that bad. I've done a few with the engine still in the car or truck. Plus its regular V belts on your truck so its easier than getting all the serpentine stuff off. It would be a good time to consider a cam swap

You have to pull out the push rods and lifters to do a cam swap so it would be best to install new lifters at least. Check out the cam kits on summit.

Yeah but make sure it doesn't require a valve spring swap.
