Could be, how many miles on it? I am having simular issues, but i think I have a collapsed lifter.
I just put a $1000 set of heads om mine, the old one cracked in 2 spots, and now I have a bad miss, I think I have a collapsed lifter. I really don;t feel like tearing this thing apart again.Yea, my dad said it may need to have the timing chain and gears replaced.

Timing chain job aint that bad. I've done a few with the engine still in the car or truck. Plus its regular V belts on your truck so its easier than getting all the serpentine stuff off. It would be a good time to consider a cam swap![]()
You have to pull out the push rods and lifters to do a cam swap so it would be best to install new lifters at least. Check out the cam kits on summit.Timing chain job aint that bad. Thought about that eariler today. Could I swap just the cam and not have to replace anything like pushrods, lifters, etc?
