Well this year it looks like I will be doing some modifications since my pause since 2009, ( unless a muffler swap counts and replacing the braking system counts as a modification, that is all that happened in 2010.. ). Well in store for this year, I am finally going through with my dreamed PTM plans since I believe I will try hanging onto the truck longer before replacing it with a younger, prettier gal . So I suppose I will keep this thread as a progression story.

A meer PS glimpse of what I am trying to create. I shall call it.. The XLT Luxury pkg .

The expected plans are...

1. PTM some plastics. The Door/Gate handles. Mirror caps.

2. PTM Bumpers. Upgrading to an '06 - '08 front bumper while at it. Will require fog lamps + brackets, and mounting brackets for the bumper.

3. Possibly a Harley Davidson/Limited bumper valance to compliment the bumper, but I may be too high to pull the look off well. I really don't want to sacrifice my tow hooks neither.

4. Keyless Entry push-button drivers door handle. Convenient for when I let it idle outside the gas station and lock it.

5. '09+ Badges custom painted. Chrome to be PTM, fonts to be flat black.

6. Possibly the deep black Recon LED tail lights. I have considered LED bulbs with LED capable signal relay to eliminate rapid flash. Or I just may get a set of tails to do a little darker and automotive clear coat.

There are more things I would like to do, but that stuff I can see definitely happening. I have already started.

Jan 29th, 2011. '06 - '08 Bumper Purchased.

Bought it for $175 on the F150online classifieds from a member whom had sold their truck and had left over parts. Included he gave me the mounting brackets for free, and even gave me an FX4 skid plate free. Was a pleasure doing business. He came from Jersey to meet me in Bloomsburg PA for the exchange.

Plans for paint and install will be spring time in warmer weather. Need to buy fogs and housings. I will want to test fit it first before I get it painted so I know all necessary pre-cautions to use while mounting it up before trying it to a freshly painted bumper and accidentally dropping it. Plans for the rear bumper ATM are to use the current chrome one, just letting the shop blast the living hell out of it.

Feb 2011. Have plans with someone on a deal for a set of door handles, keyless push-button drivers handle included, Should be in my possession the 2nd week of this month. I will PTM these.

Sounds like some good plans!

Get LED tails. LED bulbs just don't look as good IMO. I've tried it and failed (I tried cheap bulbs and they didn't work). Recon's the best, but you could try eBay (I've got eBay's along with Gregg (BHBurban).

Yeah I was thinking the same. Some of the tails they make for my body style F150 look stupid though. I want am OEM fashion yet dark. Recon has an all black set for $300 some but thats a bit steep for thinner weaker plastic with pretty lights.

I do remember your LED issues. The signal relay has done the job for a few F150 guys but still, $30 per LED tail lamp bulb, fuggin high for bulbs!!

Looks good Darren... Since you are going to be 90% maroon and 9.99% black.. are you going to do the other .01% and get a black exhaust pipe.

But plans look good... I know some guys on F150Online have purchase from this SITE and had good luck.

I actually am considering getting black chrome tips, and possibly going straight out the back. Back in Dec. my g/f had a reversing error and did some damage..

Recon is some of the best LED tails made. They are expensive, yes, but the quality is amazing. Even the LED layout and brightness was superior on mine than the Ebay ones. I had everyone in the county wanting mine, and eventually I sold them after over 2 years for $100 bucks and the guy was glad to get them.

Also, how would those black strips on your doors look painted maroon? I know thats fords trademark but its worth a photoshop to see.

As far as PTM the small stuff, got anyone in mind? I'm currently having Carolinaboy's 4 door handles and tailgate handle painted by my painter. Jeff (CarolinaBoy) shipped them to me via flat rate box, and I either smooth them myself and have the painter paint, or have the painter smooth and paint them. It works out even better because my painter just so happens to work at a Ford dealership, so paint can be perfectly matched.

Obviously bumpers would be hard to ship, but things like mirrors and handles and interior pieces and all that, can be done.

I realize you are in PA and I in Texas, but when you get ready shoot me a PM and I can get some prices, and we can figure out shipping.
