Nope its not bent or folded. Its a straight 73-80 hood. Can you still buy those bumper dolleys for towing.

You oughta be able to get a quick $50 out of that hood even if it has a couple dings in it. Maybe even more if you wanted to sit on it for a bit and lower the price as necessary if its not selling.

I don't know if you can or not. I bought this thing close to 25 years ago brand new and have used it tons. It universal, but it a real bitch and time consuming to hook up. I have a 18ft tandem trailer too, but when going on a longer drive and knowing what I am towing back has a bumper and good tires, I'll do the towbar since it gets better fuel mileage than towing a 1200lb trialer empty one way, then the added 1200lb and extra wind drag on the way back. I would have sold it years ago, but I can make it fit the box van too. If that box van breaks down, its not fitting on no trailer, and the tow bill would be hell, so I decided to keep the tow bar incase I have to pull the box van off the highway someday.

Do the towbars work on the newer cars and trucks since the bumpers are plastic?

Nope, thats why Tow dollys were invented. Also noway to pull a driveshaft on a FWD car, so you must get the front wheels off the ground to tow without doing damage to the auto trans. If manual trans, or 4x4 with transfer case in Neutral, you're fine to tow. But auto transmissions don't have a rear pump so you burn them up if you don't pull the driveline.

ANd if you get one, better keep it locked up tight. They are easily and commonly stolen around here.

I know all about thieves. This past year I lost 20 pushmowers, wheels/tires off a riding, mower, dump cart, side mirrors off the 90 2500, and some scrap metal.

Craiglist that dude. Looks like a $50 hood to me. Very very common problem for them to fold, so they are always beeing looked for. If one guy won't give you $50 for it, another will. Or settle for a quick $40 offer, but I think you'll get your $50 for it. Fits 73-80 Chevy and GMC.

Sounds to me like you need some scrap metal too. A Glock, Smith & Wesson, whichever you choose? Does your state have the stand your ground law like OK and FL have??? Snuff the losers, you were in fear of your life when you approched them to see what they were doing.

Ok back the 700r4 auto trany. I got the today for a total $500 with no title. The trany isn't any good.

I do know with the engine not running the trany wouldnt lock into gear some would when the engine isn't running. Also the needle in the instrument cluster that tells what gear your in doesn't work either. On a warmer day I see what happens with the engine running.

It acts like it not going in gear when shifting with the engine off. The shifter indicator doesn't work either.
