My dads 160 acres is in Okemah, so there are a couple other Okies on here too that could prolly show up. Even the Stillwater guys although they are OSU fans, we'll go ahead and allow them too. :) We better anyway, seems like OSU, OU and Texas are all gonna be buddies to get thru this Big 12 seperation thing. Almost starting to sound like OSU, OU, and TEXAS are all saying to hell with you all, we will keep the league and be the little 3 all by ourselves. I'd love to see that. Let all those other wusses in the Big 12 run off. You know MO is the one that started this whole thing. I assume they got sick of getting their ass beat all the time and not being conferance champs so they wanted to run off. I am sure it'll all work out OK, but I am glad to see the 3 biggest rival teams in the Big 12 are sticking together. Thats awesome. Almost make me want to be a Texas secondary fan, and usually am a secondary OSU fan, just so long as they lose to OU.

Whew !!! Yeah, thanks for the update. I was beggining to think I'd never see my engine stand again. I've got a Chev 350 on the stand I have here, and I hope early next month to be tearing down the Olds 455 Motor for my 85 C20. I just bought a CUCV 14 bolt Full Float rear end with 4.56 gears, Detroit Locker and the guy had converted it to disk brakes. A steal at $125 so I wasn't even gonna pass it up. That Olds 455 oughta run very well with some 4.56's. Although a tall truck tire. Big Block Olds don't like RPM over about 4800-5000.

Ducky what did that intake cost you if you don't mind? Im thinking of just going with a intake I found of Ebay and placing a adapter plate on it but the intake doesn't have a spot for my EGR . I don't want my check engine light on how can I fix it? The vortec heads I bought the guy said they have only 60K but I want them checked maybe even ported plus im going to use new APR head bolts and intake bolts and I already have a double roller timing set like you. Im wondering what HP am I going to get with this heads on my 1993 5.7 engine? I hope it's worth it. Also what year LT headers should I get to fit the heads and my body style? Im glad your coming along great on your truck. My baby runs so good and it's going to be hard to open her up she's a virgin with only 173K miles.
Thanks! Roland/GMC

i would just go with headers for newer truck say like same truck but pick a 96 thru 98 model should be same as your truck just different port on the heads so should fit my engine came with the stock 97 exhaust manifolds i am going to use those for now

My truck came with 210 HP and with the add ons I know she improved so that's why im hoping that the Vortec heads will help and I am going with what you said on the LT headers.
Thanks! GMC

ok guys i know what your going to say pics but they are coming soon i finally got the engine built and swapped out last weekend it is running good so far nothing bad to say about it except it is really tempting me to let it run trying to hold off alittle for now but i did have to do a few modification the egr valve was relocated from the TBI so i had to get a longer vacume line. The Brake booster line was different on the new intake so i had to get relocate that and get an adapter so it would match up the exhaust was a little different i still need to drill and tap a whole for my O2 sensor in the exhaust manifold and i had the flanges from the 97 truck welded on my existing pipe so it would match the manifolds from the vortec if you have any other questions just let me know

I forgot to add i put a water pump from a TBI on it and used my old thermostat neck and old brackets and one of the old valve covers and my old distributor another thing if putting a new timing chain cover make sure and get one that has timing tabs the stock one just has a TBC mark so timing might be a little off
