That would be a great idea J, cuz you know it does not seem that long, but 3 seconds even at only 60-70mph, you can cover alot of ground. Also if they had a 911 switch on the Drive by Wire mechanism. Cuz there will come a time, when some has to use the button you refer too, and at 70mph some one will not expect the steering and brakes to be hard and they won't be able to steer it or stop it, thinking they lost that too. Just a bum deal all the way around. I hope they get it fixed. Not only do I not have 1, but I sure don't wanna get hit by one.I have read that to stop the engine on those pushbutton start cars, you have to hold the button in for over 3 seconds to make it shutdown. Which is good in most cases since you wouldn't want to swat a mosquito and accidently shut off the car.
That being said a good addition to the feature would be if the button was pushed rapidly several times in succession the car would shut down. In a panic you would be punching the crap out of the button. I know I would be.![]()
