Smoking my taillights, opinions? (UPDATED)

So I swapped my blacked out taillights with my cousin earlier today and now have a fresh set to smoke, not black out. I would like to get a lighter coating of paint on this set to keep a decent amount of light when braking/signaling. Except I wanted to get your input on a different approach this time around.

What do you think about doing something similar to what this Cobalt owner did?
And please be honest, too much love?

I'm iffy on the love in the taillight.. I think it's kind of neat...... on someone else's vehicle. I'm not sure I would do that on mine (if I owned a Chevy, that is)..

I really like the way it looks on the Cobalt, but don't know about our tails. Where would you put the bowtie since there are two brake lights?

Something I think would look pretty neat would be tint it all except for a bowtie where the reverse light is

Meh...I don't love it. I don't hate it, but I wouldn't do it to my vehicle.

I was thinking on the top two stop lights, leave the bottom two alone? Four bulbs for stop lights makes me question it too. And the reverse lights would stay as they were on my old set (see sig) to help with the reverse lighting.
