THANKS for the write-up man!

Great pictures too. The upgrade looks really good... really worth the trouble and expense.

Very true. As I was driving home, looking at the cluster (and not the road), it hit me that this is such a great mod to spruce up the interior.

And, I am so glad I went with the Esky cluster. The chrome rings around gauges makes it look so classy. And it look as if it belongs in the truck...goes very well with the LT3 package.

First, nice write up and hopefully someday I'll buy a esky cluster.

Second, I want your sunroof.

Third, nice 800 mhz radio. Our county will be switching over in 2 to 3 weeks.

3. $2500 bucks...but it's for work so no $$$ from me! Enjoy 800mhz...it's amazing. We have only been 800 for a year or so...

WELP...my suspicions were confirmed with a long drive last night...my trans temp gauge is DOA. Not sure why...but it's not registering at all. I have an e-mail into Carl at Digital Dash Solutions.

I'll keep you updated...

Found an escalade cluster on craigslist for 100 bucks. I think i might get it. How much does it cost to have it re-calibrated to the correct mileage?

Matt I think I read somewhere that the trans temp gauge may need to be activated by the dealer, or maybe that something Justin could do. Either way I believe it is a programming thing to turn it on.

Probably 100 bucks from the dealer (hour of labor). I would drive in with your stock cluster in there, let them note the mileage, then go in the parking lot and swap the cluster.

Hmmm...I don't know.

BUT, I e-mailed Carl and he promptly responded with this:

If the weather is cold were you are the gauge won’t move. Drive the truck for about 20 minutes then let it idle for another 10-20 minutes, this will move the gauge.

Carl

Sure as shit...it worked. I would think driving my truck for 24 miles would be enough to move it...but it was below zero and I was doing mostly 55-60. But I drove it for a while and then let it idle in the driveway and it moved.

That's a pet peeve of mine...people that do write-ups and post horrid pictures in the process...

From Digital Dash Solutions:

"If your cluster does not have a transmission temperature gauge you can install a cluster with this option and it will function perfect. All the above trucks (2003 2004 2005 2006 & 2007 classic) & SUV's are pre-wired from the factory for this feature"

5 star write up. Very nice. My buds 03 Z71 mph speedo does not work, whenever he plans to get a new cluster and have it fixed i'll print this out for him.
