Does the lifetime warranty cover the Cummins? If you're not worried about warranty. You can always delete the DPF and get a tuner so you don't have any codes :dunno:

Unless they've changed their warranty, that "lifetime" only covers the first time something breaks...

I would not be using this truck as my daily driver, which is good because the drive to work is only 2 miles. This truck would sit in the garage all week, and only come out on weekends to tow either a tilt bed transport trailer (4000 lbs max), or tow the fifth wheel in the picture above (16,500 lbs max). Do you think I would ever have soot filter plugging problems with that kind of use?

it will only be an issue on short trips and or extended periods of idling. If it says its regenerating at least 2 times per tank of fuel you know its doing its job properly.

oh and BTW, you loose 2 gallons of fuel per tank in the regeneration process.

As long as you do at least 30 minutes at 40MPH or faster, you shouldn't have any problems with the DPF cleaning itself.

My dad has a 2006 3500 megacab SRW with air bags and a rear sway bar and we tow that same setup. Tows it just fine with no problems.
