Does the lifetime warranty cover the Cummins? If you're not worried about warranty. You can always delete the DPF and get a tuner so you don't have any codes :dunno:

No the Dodge lifetime warranty does not come on Cummins equipped vehicles. Cummins has a 100K warranty on all motor components.

The DPF issues will not be a problem for you because you will be running this rig under load. So it wont clog on you. Your EGT's will be high enough to keep it from needing to go into active re-gen.

The '10 6.7 CTD's come w/ an exhaust brake and an integrated trailer brake controller ... BOTH of which are a MUST on that large of a trailer. While tossing in a trailer controller aint a tough job ... those exhaust brakes for the VGT's are a pretty penny and a PITA to install. (the Jacobs for my 5.9 weighs over 40 lbs alone ~ now balance that w/ one hand and hold the turbo housing and the down tube)

Other good points on the '10 CTD (yeah I'm bias...get over it :p) larger brakes, stiffer frame, both 4 & 7 pin trailer plugs...all upgrades from earlier Dodges. All of make towing a better game for this rig.

Dodge really brought it to the table with the new interior so it's not a lost ride like in the previous body styles.

What ever you buy ... please please put an EGT gauge & a boost gauge on it. That much weight your going to run all sorts of problems w/o proper maintenance and care.

If you would have asked me a couple months ago I probably would have said look at the cummins for such towing... But now I would say try each truck and that I would push you towards the Dmax!

I have driven both Dodge and Ford enough to know that I wouldn't trade my Dmax in for either... I have a friend that replaced his 2004 Dmax that had 363,000 miles on it and bought 08 Cummins. I asked him how are things going with the Dodge and he said that the first opportunity he gets he is going to get a Dmax...

My neighbor that had all the problems with the F350 and now has a 2006 3500 Dually cummins wishes he got a Dmax after already having issues with it and the truck has less than 25k...

Say get a big rig and go to Oregon and get it checked and register it off as a motorhome. All you need to drive a motorhome is a class c license, thanks to Oregon.

Go to Oregon and get the truck registered. you can haul whatever you want (within reason) and drive it.
