Your truck that is. When it's as cold as it's been, I'll normally let her run for 2-3 minutes before I take off. I'll even let it run for about 30 seconds in warm weather just to make sure the oil is circulating good. :dunno:

On a cold day I've been known to let mine run for 30 minutes before getting in it. Luckily we don't get too many cold days here (but it does happen a few days every Winter).

Even here in Ca. we get those cold mornings, frosty windshields.I start the Burb, put the heat on max and the defrost on High. When the frost melts I know it's nice and warm inside and time to go to work :(

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
I generally let it warm up a few minutes . . . never more than the remote start default shut off time. :dunno:

I've read some guys saying that it's good for the tranny and engine to warm it up. But I've read others saying just drive and let it warm up on the road.

I was just wondering what some of you do. I've seen people start 'em up and put it in gear and go. I know that can't be good for them. I forgot to add that I'll even put it in gear, and wait for a few seconds before I go, just to loosen up the 'ole tranny fluid a little bit. :D

Most days I start it and drive away immediately... but it's warm here most of the year too. For some reason it seems like doing that on a cold day would do more harm. I don't know that this is actually true but it seems like it would be for some reason!

That is my belief. The guy across the street from just turns the key and goes. That damned old Ford of his sounds like a ticking time bomb.
