Nice! That's going to be a fun build. Lots of potential. Love square bodies.
Fwonk the stickers. Put that $100 to something good. And a rough build list

Just don't have any kind of camper on it or much interior mods. Same with some of the OEM replacement parts. This is gonna be a slow build.
Has anyone heard of adding something like a ford remote starter solenoid to the firewall in the wiring pattern to the starter to help boost amperage to the starter? I just got a new battery and still at times have issues with the starter just clicking. I am tempted to try it as a bandaid fix until I can get the alt and starter both replaced.
So is this build list an actual doing list or a dream list??? I'll assure you we can tweek it and save some funds along the way. No axle upgrades huh other than the lockers??? Why selectable locker in the rear??? I'd go the other way around. Detroit Locker in the rear, and air locker in the front. If you're on tight trails you'll wish that front wasn't locked up. Also a limited slip is better in the front for some occasions, but the ultimate is selectable locker. You can have it OFF on the tight trails, on only when you need it, and you can also lock it up and only lock in 1 hub so the other one free wheels, so you'd have better options. You're rear can stay locked all the time and won't hurt a thing. I have a few buds, we can get you all hooked up on anything you need to know or do to that truck down to every bolt and every wire in it. I'm currently building an 85 K1500 that I drive daily, and also an 85 K10 that is in progress.
You should be able to replace the solenoid on the starter separately on those. Sometimes if the solenoid is going out you just get a click.

Nothing wrong with going slow either.

What is the condition of the wiring to the starter? What about the grounds? Also check that the terminals are clean.
Does the starter turn over with ease if pulled off the engine?

Dream list lol. I actually need to update it some based on some changes I made at work last night. But I'm more than happy for suggestions in terms of better ideas

Thank you. I'll give that a try. I just hate the starter location on these trucks
