Cummins has a better reputation for reliability and ease of maintenance. Ford even used Cummins engines into the F250, F350 and F550 for some overseas markets.

DUDE, why do you even try? You know absolutely nothing about diesels and are wrong about 98% of the things you say about them!!!! The only Ford trucks that had a cummins engine in them from the factory were in the F650 & f750 trucks. The only trucks! Those engines made the trucks an absolute dog which meant because of the Cummins underpowered engine it absolutely sucked!

Go chat about sniffing sharpies, somewhere...

Not for the American market, but Cummins engines were available for the F250, F350 and the F550 in some overseas markets.

They were assembled in Brazil for the local market and exports to regional markets in South America and Africa (mostly Nigeria, Angola and RHD countries) where the Bosch fuel system with a P-type pump was deemed more suitable than the HEUI.

Even back there some folks are swapping the Baby Cummins out of wrecked walk-in vans into 3/4 tonners to replace gassers, and they actually fare decently for that matter.

Update:

Gutted the entire interior. There was an 1" of mud under the vinyl carpet in the rocker channels. I had the bottoms of the two benches recovered in texture vinyl. Pictures to come soon.

Maybe tomorrow, that's if I get home before dark or midnight.
