Brian, that looked like the trailer was tail heavy with the truck loaded on it that way. How did it tow?

We had it all the way back at first and it was too much tongue weight. It actually rode perfectly and that dump bed is pretty heavy so it offsets the weight of the front of the truck.

OK, we got it running just with new batteries. No engine light. It ran like a 15 degree start or slightly starving for fuel. We gave it throttle and it reved up but almost quit running. It did maintain a more normal idle. It hasn't ran in 8 months so it ran like a power stroke should have that hasn't been started in a while.

The fuel filter cap was so tight in the engine compartment that it broke.

We did have diesel fuel leaking from the back side of the motor on both sides of the engine.

When injectors are bad won't they dump fuel in the oil? There is no fuel in the oil at all.

We are going to get the new cap tomorrow and get the PTO engaged to get the bed off of the tank. We are going to investigate the fuel pump and inside of the tank. Also looks like we will be rebuilding the regulator.

Once we get that new fuel filter cap tomorrow we will be able to know more about where the diesel fuel is coming from. And that's not to say that when we took the cap off that some diesel fuel leaked from there.

Hey this 6.0 has two bolts or plugs in the back of the head that Block off the fuel rail end they could be leaking if it isn't just fuel from the fuel bowl with cracked cap. not much fuel leaks out of the fuel bowl with out it eunning but a lot when running it because it does go to 60 PSI. I have a billet fuel filter But I don't think you want it for your work truck!!!

It's possible that the injectors could get fuel in the oil but very unlikely most likely you have stiction issues with old oil or just injectors need to be cleaned out I would run some straight power sevices diesel clean through the filter, fill it up run it fill it up and then see how it runs. That stuff works well.

How is the oil? I think You said that the truck was well-maintained before you got it.

You have a billet fuel filter cap? How much do you want for it? We might just get one so we can work on it tonight but its going to cost $75.

We tried to remove the fuel filter cap before starting it. We had a 1/2" ratchet on top and an adjustable wrench trying to get it to turn without breaking it.

We then tried starting it will fuel pissing out. So I am sure it will run better with the cap. I want to drop the tank tonight and clean it out. Start it with fresh fuel. Also replace the filter that's on the chassis by the drivers door.

Okay before you buy local contact [email protected]

Tell him I sent you from PSA and he will hook you up. Just email Him with the truck details and the part you need, And he will reply back to you with the price and it will get it out today and you'll get it pretty quick. Dealer cost for everything.

I've bought probably $2000 worth of stuff from them and one time I can really remember I needed both uppipes badly and he next day aired them to me I had it by 10 o'clock in the morning and I ordered it at like 530 in the afternoon
