So I found someone on ebay selling some JBA shortys and they are used for $100. Supposedly they are in good shape. He said he took them off because he sold the truck.
Should I buy?

Yes I would buy used headers but NOT shorties. Not worth it. The GM manifolds flow about as well as shorties. Longtubes or bust!

Don't waste your time with shorties. Like Carl said, the stock manifolds flow just as well as a shorty header. If you look at the design of them, they actually are just a cast iron shorty header.

The only thing they offer is looks. I doubt you'd hear much of a difference in sound, either.

Shorty headers are good for looks only. You won't notice any other differences. I'd spend the $$$ elsewhere.

i`d probly never buy used headers, new ones are bad enough for leaks. :D but when they leak there is warranty, with used leaky ones its just pure frustration. :)

I bought these used Doug Thorley headers off of Ebay, gave my truck a deeper tone, got a power increase above 3K rpm, which it rearly see's....lol, I drive like an old man:rolleyes:.....IMO, I would do it again, just make sure the header flange is about 1/4" thick, and you wont have any leaks, or at least, I don't....

I really wouldn't, but mostly for LTs. Never know where a bent primary can happen at.
