IDK if you have got your tint yet Jeff but look on the HHI at Autospa heard they do pretty good work and will do 5%. I talked to Mr. 50's and he won't do no less than 21% But for Amanda's single cab he only charged $85 lol

Bumping this up since I need suggestions on window tint. Also how do I find out what percentage grade is currently on my truck. I emailed the Chevy dealership and they have yet to email me back.

I want to add dark tint on the rear windows and a window tint strip on my windshield.

Thanks!

You need to find out what is legal for your state, if you care. Your tears aren’t tinted?

I checked for California.

The amount of light that can pass through your car windows is measured in percentages (called VLT), so make sure your tinting film is up to these standards! In California there is no difference in regulations for sedans, or SUVs and vans, so these laws are for all vehicles.

  • Windshield allows transparent strip on top 4 to 5 inches
  • Front side windows must pass through more than 70% of light inside your car (70% VLT)
  • Back side windows and rear window can have any darkness

Factory tint on rear windows is generally pretty close to 20%. If you want your fronts to match, go pretty close to that. If you go 35%, it will still look pretty decent. Different brands of tint also have slightly different shading (brownish/grey/black), so you may want to take a sample out to compare against your factory tint.
