I've ran 20% on every vehicle I've had over the past 12 years and have never had a cop bother me over it. Maybe luck, maybe not, but we have some pretty ticket happy cops in my town.

I put 5% overt 20% on my ford that I had. It was dark, be prepared to not see out at night time.

Yeah 5% over 20 is like 0%

I've got no problem with dark windows on the side. My buddy has his crazy dark in his F150 and it's bad but doable. He has 5% over 20% as well. That's just ridiculous.

Our "laws" here aren't enforced at all. As long as you've got your windows down when pulled over they don't care. I've asked my few buddies that are Cops and they all say the same thing "honestly I don't give a shit". If someone is being a royal douche then they'll tack that charge on top of the original reason they pulled you over

That's been my experience for the last ten years of driving here

Meh, there are no cars, bikes or people out there you need to see anyway.

I'm all for dark, but when it's dark enough to warn "be prepared to not see out at night time," that's just dumb. No offense, but at that point, you are just knowingly putting others at severe risk. Don't think the cops and the prosecutor's office won't see it that way too. Be careful out there.

Go dark or go home :p:p:p my back window is factory then had 15 on it wasnt enough so layed 5% on it.... at night you camt see out of it lol. Rear windows are 2% the front are 5% so i can see just fine out of them amd windshield is 50% which is perfect it cuts the glare of the sun and headlights at night!

I call bullshit on anybody being able to see out of anything darker than 20% at night. Even 20% makes it tough to see anything that isn't extremely well lit.

You are fooling yourself just to "be cool".

My front door windows check at 25.5 by the Highway Patrols tint meter...
The back door windows are a little darker than the front, but I don't know how much.
I have to put the front windows down at night, to safely / clearly see in my outside rear view mirrors when backing up.

I have been in Texas since the 3rd grade and my Dad never was pulled over for 5%.

I have ran 5% on all my vehicles since I started driving at 15 years old. I have been pulled over 3 times for tint and every time it was Texas State Troopers. First time was heading to Dallas for an orientation.

Next two times were heading out to Fabens on I-10 and again it was State Troopers.

I have always used 3M 5% and I find it perfect for the hot summers we have here and I have no problem seeing out at night.

I have ridden in friends vehicles with other brands of tint and that 5% is hard to see out of even during the day.

Another option is to paint the windows black.

Shh... Don't tell anyone, but I think we just found our winning lottery ticket. :uhoh:

Carbon Fiber Replacement Panels - Lighter weight, 0% tint, carbon freaking fiber.
