I'm trying to remember when the last time I rode anywhere with him.... I think there's a psychological :willy: mental block on that memory. :ohnoes:

I think things have improved on both fronts. Increasing efficiency increases it all around. All the latest tricks like variable valve timing, variable valve lift, direct injection, and higher compression increase power, torque, AND fuel efficiency. What is really hurting modern cars is weight.

Then a smaller engine can provide the same power and torque, or even better, than some older ones. And also saving some weight :dan:

There's no really need for any engine with more than 6 cylinders in many of the new cars (and even trucks and SUVs) sold back there in America.
