The main problem, after all, is that that "one size fits all" policy that has been performed by the automakers, and the gov't back there thru CAFE, CARB and EPA. I never said neither the V6 or V8 engines should be phased out, but other options could be available for other customers who would want a cheaper engine with a lower fuel consumption.

There are a LOT of things I don't NEED... but I want them.

The same applies for me.

If I was buying a new truck today...
It would be a GM.
It would be fully loaded with every option available.
It would have the biggest engine available.
Right now that is the 6.2L

Still not bigger than the 6.6L Duramax :jester:

If that makes me a bad person in someone else's eyes .... I don't care about THAT either...

Neither do I. Some random motherfWONkers look me as a bad person for being favorable to gun ownership and liking trucks, but I don't fWONkin' care for what they think or say as long as they don't give me a single $0,01 to pay my bills.

Smaller engines don't always mean better gas mileage. A 2013 Equinox with a 3.6L V6 gets the same mileage as a 2012 Equinox with a 3.0L V6 while performing much better. A 6.2L Vette gets about the same as a 2.5L BRZ but yet will blow the Sciobaru out of the water in performance (and price). GM's 4.3 doesn't get any better than the 5.3 (the Gen V version will though).

Settle down some. You're gettin' your BP up and it's high enough as is! :uhoh:
Somebody tugged a little to hard on the old mans cape. :jester:

Yeah... Well, to quote him "I just flat out DON'T CARE." He needs to settle down some and take better care of himself! He can't be yelling at people from other countries on the internetz if he's not still alive to do that!
Yes he does. His BP is off the charts.

This is a good question. A generation ago vehicles were cruising around with 150-160 HP if they were lucky and everybody got where they wanted to go at or beyond the posted speed limit with ease.

I find the eternal quest for more and faster to be a little bit on the stupid side in these days of 3 buck and above gasoline. If manufacturers concentrated on fuel economy instead of making every new model "Bigger, Faster, More Powerful" we'd probably be driving 200 HP very fuel efficient vehicles by now.

Of course I realize a small segment of buyers are the monobrow "Mo is always better" crowd... but most of us aren't 16 anymore and live in a real world. Horsepower is nice, but in true American consumer fashion, it has become an all out idiot race just to sell cars.

We are losing in the process.

Here's the article.

I stopped reading after those two sentences. I have two things to say.

1. You're old

2. 'Merikuh

That is all.:jester:

Oh and to answer your original question...because **** you...that's why.
