You nailed it. If you go to other countries, they drive sensible high mpg cars for the most part. I don't think we should be prohibited from high HP rides.. just find it interesting.

Americans: More is always better.

One day we will learn the hard way.
Feel free to move to Europe, you pansy. This is 'merica!

Hell yeah it is... :flag: :flag:

I need my two and a half ton, 18 foot long, 300+ hp 4 door sedan to drive to Krogers and get a jug of milk... and maybe dust a ricer or two along the way...

But seriously, I really don't give much of a **** about mileage...
Hardly a day passes when I am driving, that I don't stand on it at least once... just to hear the V8 winding up to 7000 RPM...

I like the comfort and the quietness of a real big, smooth riding, automobile.

I am starting to get a little old and the great big cars just FIT me better...plus I like that I can drive it ALL DAY LONG, at any more or less sane speed, and not be beat to death from a rough riding, noisy, little bitty cracker box of a car.

But that's just me and my opinion...:)

TX, where else should I be?
I think things have improved on both fronts. Increasing efficiency increases it all around. All the latest tricks like variable valve timing, variable valve lift, direct injection, and higher compression increase power, torque, AND fuel efficiency. What is really hurting modern cars is weight.

No, I think being ugly as sin is hurting modern cars.

Put curves in the right places and they would sell. They need the outer curves of a lingerie model, not a McDonald's regular.

The result needs to be a knockout body that is a cheap date.
