You nailed it. If you go to other countries, they drive sensible high mpg cars for the most part. I don't think we should be prohibited from high HP rides.. just find it interesting.

I think things have improved on both fronts. Increasing efficiency increases it all around. All the latest tricks like variable valve timing, variable valve lift, direct injection, and higher compression increase power, torque, AND fuel efficiency. What is really hurting modern cars is weight.

If our fuel prices were as high as a lot of other countries, we all probably would be driving sensible high MPG cars too. :lol:
