It was a tic comment. I'm not saying that it's a 3/4 ton...I was just saying that from the looks of the frame and the beefed up drivetrain it's as though Toyota took notes from the big 3's 3/4 ton and threw it into a 1/2 ton truck.

Have you looked at an HD's frame? Other than the "C" shape, there is NO comparison. HD frames are WAY bigger and thicker and do not have bolts/rivets holding it together.

The drivetrain is impressive, but is no longer any more "beefy" than the competition's 1/2 tons.

Think you may be misinterpreting my intentions here. I'm not claiming it's a 3/4 Ton. I'm not claiming it's better than any other truck. I'm not claiming that Toyota changed it all. The only thing I was trying to say was that Toyota probably used the big 3's HD's as the benchmark. So it got a rear C channel, just like the Super Duty's, it got, what was then a big rear axle for half-tons, it got what still is ( I think) some of the biggest brakes available and etc, etc, etc.

I'm not a Toyota homer. I'd gladly drive any other brand without hesitation. In fact I think your GM is a SWEET truck. It just so happens that Toyota has been GREAT for me for the past 10 years. Just like, I'm guessing, GM has been good to you.

In fact my favorite truck of ALL time is Ford (still have a sweet spot for the '78 and '79)

Hope that clears it up.
