Who makes the best radar detector?

I was going to post the very same suggestion! But if I were buying a radar detector, I would buy the Valentine 1 also. I haven't used one, but that's what everybody on the Corvette Forum I lurk on recommends.

Radar detectors are illegal in VA.
Yes they are, don't ask me how I know.
I have the Escort 8500 and it is a good detector, gives me plenty of warning. If I ever upgrade though from what I have read online the Valentine 1 is the one to get if you live in an area that is radar enforced. If laser your just out of luck.
