I dont have plans to replace my dvds with blu ray either. All new movies I buy will be on blu ray and 2nd choice will dvd if not available on blu ray yet.

It's not heaven . . . it's Iowa!
Blu-Ray is the best quality. :dunno:

But my TV is only 1080i so I don't usually rent the BR for the comedy/drama type movies. Just if it's going to be some action or CGI thing.

Now when I get my projector, that'll be Blu-Ray exclusively

Downloads and streaming will very quickly make this a moot poll.
Actually, I forgot about that, but shows aren't always put online right away. For instance USA was waiting 30 days after the second episode of shows to release the third. Plus then, you always have to be on a PC to watch them, or I guess have one of those super fancy TV's that can stream live from the web/Netflix/Hulu.

Or stream them from your PC to your TV, like I do.
Yeah, but my TV doesn't have any PC hookup or HDMI. Still using CRT TV's in our house. :D However, I do have a plan for a dedicated "home theater PC". I'd like to use one for streaming internet content and for music playback.

i personally think laser disk was the best..
 I forgot about LaserDisc! I never knew anyone with a player in their house, but my high school had one. Neat idea, but the physical disc size is what made it never catch on.

:werd: The only two movies I bought on both DVD and Blu-Ray were because I had just bought a Blu-Ray player and wanted those two movies in higher quality. The combo packs are the only way I'm buying new/newer movies anymore.

I am just fine with DVDs. My kids destroy them anyways, so no sense in paying more for a Blu ray.
Plus I play DVDs in my truck all the time. :dunno:

We have one BluRay. It's the Sony WIFI that will let us get on NetFlix, Hulu Plus, and a ton of other things. We have an awesome TV also so that helps. When you buy most BluRay discs, you also get a regular DVD to use on other players for just a few dollars more.
