They are good for messing up your mass air flow sensor.. went through 3 of them

You either bought a cheap one or installed it poorly. It should have no effect on your MAF

The oil builds up on the sensor and causes a CEL.

Only if you oil your filter improperly. I have run K&N filters on every vehicle I have owned for the last 15 years and never once had a single oil issue , ever.

Here are tests we did on the dyno a few years back. We do plan on expanding our tests in the future and spending a day on the dyno putting them through the paces.

Black Bear Performance Intake Testing
Thanks.

Looks like stock box with a K&N drop in filter did as well as anything... and not much was really achieved by any of them.

I hate to do it but I have to agree with Tobias :)D) I have been running K&N filters for about as long as they have been around. Never had a problem myself, but have heard of way too many that over oil their filter. A lot of manufacturer's have been denying warranty work for folks with K&N filters. Which is completely ridiculous..

EcoBoost owners beware, FoMoCo issued a bulletin about the Eco and warranty voiding items. The K&N filter is specifically mentioned, just fyi.

As soon as it's red, it's right.

Basically, they make more noise.

Exactly.

I put one on every truck I buy for myself :D2

I do love the sound with a good exhaust sytem.

Welcome to high school. :jester:

I kid of course. I have a cat-back setup on my truck. It also did not increase my horsepower noticeably... just like every other cat-back system... but it sounds good! It's hard to get that out of your system huh?
