Fwonked up my wipers somehow.
I used the snowblower to clear my blacktop driveway, while I left the truck parked in the gravel driveway.
A couple hours later I went out to clear all the snow of the windshield that the snowblower threw on there. After clearing most of the ice and snow I started it up and ran the wipers a few times to clear off the last of it, and they worked fine, but there was still a few bits of ice so I figured I'd hit the windshield with the washers. Flipped the switch for the washers and nothing happened. No spray and the wipers didn't move. Tried it a few more times and nothing. Then I tried the wipers alone and they weren't working either, so I figured I blew the fuse somehow.
Pulled the fuse and it was good, so I tried the wipers again and got nothing. Flipped 'em to high speed and I could see the voltage drop but they still weren't moving, so I figured either they got bound up or the linkage had come off and the motor was just running without the wipers connected.
Cleared the rest of the snow and ice so I could see down inside the cowl and it looked like the linkage was fine (it was dark by now, so I'm using a flashlight to see inside the cowl) but I couldn't really be sure. Grabbed both wipers arms to see if they moved freely or if they were still connected and there was resistance, but they moved, and I could see the linkage was still attached. Tried 'em with the switch again and nothing, just a little dimming of the dash lights with them in "high" so I reached out and gave 'em a tug, but that didn't do it.
Shut off the switch and went outside and slowly moved both wipers up on the windshield to see if the linkage was frozen or jammed and it moved okay, then when the wipers got halfway up they did a fast wipe and parked themselves. Tried the switch again and nothing, just the dimming of the lights on "high", and if I pulled 'em up to the middle of the glass they'd finish the wipe on their own and park.
Not really sure what the hell is wrong. It could be that the new wiper module I put in a couple weeks ago failed, or it could be the linkage is binding (doesn't feel like it),or it could be they're parked in the wrong position and the motor doesn't have enough torque to get 'em going. Or it could be the motor is shot.
I'll tear it all apart tomorrow and see what I find, but it's a PITA to get to that fwonking linkage. I'm gonna need a short ladder to climb up there and see inside the cowl better.

I drove it to see my doctor yesterday and while driving over there I tested out my new/used radar detector it's a Escort 8500 X50 I picked up a KA signal from 1.5 miles im very happy with it im ready for my X-Mas trip im going to Mc Allen Texas area to see my dad and family members im thinking of swinging by San Antonio to see my grand kids on the way back I can't wait. Im going to be driving my truck more now since my nieces Nissian Sentra SE/R is on it's way to Gulfport, Ms no more good gas mileage it was fun/nice while it lasted I tell you the little car was a blast to drive.
