Did the DRL to signal/parking light mod. Much better

Swapped the DRL socket/light for a parking light/turn signal socket.

Maybe I am missing something here. How does changing the socket matter? Does it just bring the intensity down by using the other element?

Yes. I actually bought two new 3157 signal sockets, and fit them into the DRL housings.

Removed the DRL fuse and taped up the DRL socket, zip tied it out of the way.

So now you have 4 front signal lights?

Turned it into an SLT for all practical purposes. :dodge:

Then I drove it home in the snow. Interstate was closed halfway home, so I had to get off on the first exit I could (finally after 30+ minutes) and take back roads home. My hour commute took 2 1/2 hours.......fun!

fWONking drove it after 6 weeks.

Oh yeah, and spent 11 hours replacing the hard brake lines. Fishing pre-bent lines into a truck without a lift blows nutsack. But it's finally done, and I can take the Miata off the road before all the salt comes. The truck's already rusted to hell, what can a little more salt do?

I'll have to get pics in a little while, but yesterday I added a couple options that were really the only things missing that I wanted on the truck.

First, I found a new cluster with the EVIC (Electronic Vehicle Information Center) that had very close miles to mine. They also had a steering wheel with the controls, so I got that as well. Finally, I also picked up the upper glove box from an SLT. Mine just had an open cubby pocket for the upper glove box, so the one I got has a closeable lid. I had been watching clusters on ebay, but ended up finding the cluster, wheel, and glove box at a wrecking yard in Albuquerque for the same price as a cluster alone on the internet.

I got everything installed, and the basic functions of the EVIC work, but I will have to have a sales code added to my BCM and do a little wiring to get the steering wheel controls to work (which unlock lots of other functions in the EVIC). Even without the full functions working, I like this cluster much better than the one I had before, and it has some extra gauges which is nice.

Used my Mother's Mini Ball & some liquid lens polishing compound to clear up the headlight lenses.Headlights are much brighter now
