We've been a GM family for generations here as well and my own personal vehicles have always been Chevy. So I do admit I have a bias for GM vehicles, but that doesn't mean I don't like anythings from the other brands. Like right now, the new Dodge trucks are great looking.

They all have things I like and things I don't. Each time I buy a truck it comes down to who can offer what I need/want for the best price. This time Chevy won because IMO they make the best looking RCLB, and it's the most comfortable to me. 0 for 72 didn't hurt their chances either. With that said my previous truck was a Dodge and I was inches away from buying an F250 but when push came to shove they couldn't make their numbers match my checkbook.

My last truck was a GMC and it was a good truck but when the new Dodge's came out I knew I had to have one. I didn't even look at Ford but that was only because I had no desire for the 5.4. Now that they have a competitive motor lineup coming out I will keep them in mind whenever I buy another truck (not for a while though).

TX, where else should I be?
My dad likes his old Ford PSD because he never has to work on it. But if he had to buy a new diesel it would have a cummins in it. I bought a Ford because the other brands nearby were too proud of their emblems. The base MSRP for my truck was about 2K below a similar model of Chevy/GMC(not sure how there can be any bickering between Chevy and GMC because dont they both have the GM emblem?) and Dodge. Toyota was over 5K more expensive on a similar truck. I've also had bad experiences with Toyotas loading heavy feed and equipment so when coupled with the price it was a no go.

Oh and the other brands were not as willing to negociate the price. I got another 5K off my truck because of some newspaper adds the dealership had sent out after they had sold out of that model. My truck with all of the additions is just now at the MSRP.

I am not really brand loyal at all, I have had Dodge, GMC/Chevy, Ford, Mazda, and Nissan trucks, along with numerous other brands of cars. I have probably had more experience with the GM trucks, so I am somewhat more comfortable with them, but I also know a lot of the bad things about them that seem to be recurrent issues. I tend to purchase based on what my needs are at the time I am buying, and what kind of good deals I can find.

You're definitely not brand loyal. Perhaps non-committal . . .

Considering I have traded trucks an average of once a year for the last 15+ years, I would have to agree with you!

This Frontier is on the line to be the longest kept vehicle I have had in a while!

I think it has alot to do with what you know I choose GM mainly because my Grandfather has been a GM service Manager for as long as i can remember so if i have any problem that i can't figure out a certified GM mechanic is just a phone call away
