So, I took the long weekend to come back to PHX to visit the family and buy a new dog. Sunday morning I jump in the ride and head out on the rode. Just me and the dog going for a 5 hour road trip back to S.D. Stopped in Yuma, got gas and a bite. Life was good.

Then about 30 minutes passed Yuma, I took my eyes off the road for the briefest of moments, at exactly the wrong time. Tires caught into the shoulder bumps, pulled the truck left, there was no actual shoulder. Sand and dirt pulled me right into the median. I rode through for a while upright trying to slow down, save it and get it back on the road.

It didn't work. Back end came around on me pretty fast as I was making my approach to getting back on the road. No way to tell how much there was an embankment to get back on the road. Front wheels caught a berm and the lip of the freeway, and I went for a roll. 3 rolls in fact. Rolled back across the freeway ending up landing on my wheels, on the right shoulder. Eyes were open the entire time, and as soon as i stopped, crawled out the driver side window. Seat belt worked wonderfully. Air bag didn't go off, kind of strange i think. Going to have the insurance people look into that.

Dog lived incase anyone was wondering.

Sorry to hear about the truck, at least it did it's job and kept you safe! Also glad the dog is OK.

Airbags don't always go off, especially in a rollover. If you didn't have a solid frontal impact, they probably wouldn't deploy. :dunno:

WOW. Glad you made it through the fun (dog too). Airbags don't deploy unless there is a solid frontal impact, so that isn't likely an issue.

those were also some thoughts that came to mind. but, being that it was a pretty good crash, i'm having the insurance look into no matter what. what came to mind was, few months back took it to the dealer cause the airbag light was on. they gave me a bunch of shit, of what could be the problem. and then i dont ever remember it being on again. one of those better to look into it, then not to.
