Good idea to stick with the 4.88 gears. It limits the stress on the driveline even though your gas mileage is sucking turning those high RPM's on the highway.

Ha! You seemed pretty set on it being the diff and asked whether or not I'd trust the dealer or drive it to the installer. Sorry for giving you an answer to that question.

I forgot you knew it was the transfer case all along.

Ha, I stated the rep suggested I leave it in case it was something else that could be covered under warranty. Just busting balls Tobias, you know I value your advice. I really thought you were making that suggestion just to be a ballbuster to make me second guess my decision to leave it there.

Not at all. I was actually replying to say NOT to drive it the 30 miles as you suggested. I thought the flatbed would prevent further damage. :cheers:

Transfer case go poof not a good thing.

Sweet that they are covering it under warranty.
