They will, however charge you for the time it takes to determine if it is a warranty issue, if it's NOT a warranty fix.

I dont think they will be stealing anything.. There is only one way to know if they did.

I do NOT believe that will happen, he said before any work would be performed he would call me first. I took that as, before I give them the OK no work will be performed, hence no charge to me. When you bring your car/truck to a brake shop and they check your brakes, i.e. measure the pad thickness, check the rotor surface they never charge you. I guess I should've explained I do NOT want them to try and charge me hourly for something they haven't fixed. I think they are making sure this is NOT a warranty issue for me benefit.
I meant the inspection part of it.
The one stealership in town charged me for an inspection I had done on my Blazer because nothing was considered fixable under warranty.
I hope your place does better
If they're pulling your diff cover, though, I'd imagine there's a chance they're going to charge you for at least the oil to refill it, if not the labour.

I think they were not 100% sure it was the diff, and just want to verify. If they find no issues, then perhaps they will re-diagnose.

I'd have a flatbed haul it over to the shop that did the install, personally.

Just called the stealership.
They just ordered a new transfer case for my truck, and it's ALL covered under warranty, BOOYAH.
What lift, tires and tune?
Glad they finally figured it out and happy it's not the TruTrac. When I swap out the diff cover I'll inspect the TT and make sure the bolts are all still tight, and everything looks good in there. Guess I am sticking with the 4.88's.
I REALLY would like to try and fit 37's on my truck, so 4.88's would work well with 37's anyway. Not sure if they'll fit though, don't want to deal with rubbing or cut metal. But with the 8.5" of lift I have I figured it's doable.
TC should be in by tue/wed and I should have the truck back by end of the week next week.
I noticed issues with shifting the first few miles with this truck, I new something like this would happen eventually, shifting never felt smooth in this truck.
