They will, however charge you for the time it takes to determine if it is a warranty issue, if it's NOT a warranty fix.

I do NOT believe that will happen, he said before any work would be performed he would call me first. I took that as, before I give them the OK no work will be performed, hence no charge to me. When you bring your car/truck to a brake shop and they check your brakes, i.e. measure the pad thickness, check the rotor surface they never charge you. I guess I should've explained I do NOT want them to try and charge me hourly for something they haven't fixed. I think they are making sure this is NOT a warranty issue for me benefit.
So give me your thoughts.
Am I INSANE for leaving my truck at the stealership?
So I called the service rep early this morning (he is a friend of the family actually, but still don't trust him), after I realized, wait, I really don't want them taking apart the differential. I wanted to warn them they would not find anything resembling anything OEM in there. Says, oh ok, gotcha, so I'll let the tech know to get the truck ready for you to come pick it up. I answer yes.
Calls me back 5 min later. My tech said since the truck is here already, just let us take the diff cover off and see if we see anything wrong without removing anything. He claims he would rather they check it just to make sure it's not something else they can warranty for me. So no mention of my truck being out of warranty for the lift/tires/tune...interesting.
So, would you guys take a chance with leaving it in the dealers hands, or would you rather chance trying to drive the truck without it breaking down 30 min away to the shop that installed the TruTrac 2 years ago?
He said give him a couple days and he'l call. Not sure why it takes 2 days to remove the diff cover. I'm paranoid they will replace the TruTrac with a G80 and throw away (or steal my TruTrac lol)
I'd have a flatbed haul it over to the shop that did the install, personally.
