^^^ What he said.

You can pick them out with a small screwdriver and some patience, but they aren't going to hurt anything if you leave them in.

Looking at the pic you posted, is the area beneath the bumper still opening allowing air flow to get to the lowest part of the cond and rad? I know some people do some mods to their front end and block the airflow somewhat. Have you removed any plastic or rubber flaps? If you look at the pics I posted you'll notice the flap at the bottom that directs air to cond. bypassing the trans cooler

Well my brother rear ended a lady several years ago. It bent the bumper brackets and messed up the ""filler" piece. It's been that way for a while.

Every time I got to a parts yard I look for them plus what I went there for. They are either bent to shit or missing every time. Can get new ones but it's like $80! :fume:

Well air needs to be allowed to hit that lower part of the cond. freely

Yes I know....it's been a money pit going on four/five years now.

Still cheaper than new thought.

They are on the list.

Hopefully I can get some angle today and start fabricating the cooler bracket.

When I had my fan off to replace my water pump a few years ago, I sprayed a hose from the backside of the radiator spraying towards the front of the truck. I was astonished by the amount of dirt, dead bugs, and other crap came out of the radiator fins. And since I had the radiator drained, I went ahead and lifted it IP and sprayed the condenser too. I honestly didn't notice an improvement in AC performance after that, but my coolant temp gauge was reading about 5-6° cooler after flushing the fins out.

I know it's been a while since I started this thread but I finally had time the other day to reinstall the trans cooler.

I moved it to the driver side still in front of the cond. with a 1 1/4 gap.

Also cleaned the cond. out with a scrub brush. Ac performance is where it was before.

Here are a few pics of the cooler plus some of the trans gauge.
