Here is how mine is currently. Only thing missing from the pic is the core support in the middle which I had to notch out. I just dunno where I bold in a bracket.

I see your dilemma. But you have extra heat load to deal with now. Airflow is the problem. Have you ever replaced the fan clutch? They do wear out without being too noticeable. After checking the fan clutch, thoroughly clean the cond. coil and radiator. You may need to move the cooler to center, because you're dumping all that heat right where your AC lines enter and exit.

Mounting in the center is not an option because of the center support. Also the ac issue is the same at idle as it is at speed. I might try and fable something up using the bolt holes for the cond. and core support but on the drivers side instead.

It that don't work it will have to got behind.

And no I never have since I've had the truck since I've never had a heating issue. My dad checked it for me using an old piece of garden hose. It worked fine which was about 4 years ago.

Even thought I dont think that is the problem is ther any other way to. Check it?

A poor fan clutch will usually show up in AC performance long before an engine overheat condition occurs. If your fan isn't fully locking up when necessary you will not move enough air. That goes for idle or at speed.

You will lose some performance by moving the trans cooler behind the radiator. Your ambient air temp flowing through the cooler will be about 100 degrees higher

Again this is an airflow problem. Do all you can to remedy it.

I wouldn't think it is the fan clutch if it is the same AC issue at hwy speeds as well. But knowing the mileage on the vehicle it still can be worn out and would be a good thing to check anyway.

Ok lots of good info there. Thanks for posting it.

So if the clutch passes the "news paper" test than its
good right?

4 years ago was the last time you checked it, and it has 300K on it?

Holy shit, why even ask questions about it. I would change it. You got your money out of that one, bud.
