My Blazer went from about 15 to 13 on a short trip with a 5000lb flat deck trailer.... City driving, then a couple steepish hills...

Towing a hot tub on an 8x10' trailer, got me in the 10ish MPG range.... About 2500lbs or so
But that was also only on 5 cylinders...

I think 10MPG was being very generous on that trip... I mean... I had to fill up in Fox Creek or I wouldn't have made Whitecourt...

My truck with a 5.7 seems to get the same mileage, loaded or empty. I used a little over a 1/2 tank (34 gallon tank) to go 230 miles.

I have a 2008 Silverado with 5.3L,4sp, 3.73 gear.

I get 15.5-16.5 mixed mileage. If I put my enclosed 12x7 single axle trailer empty or full makes no difference and has the same tung weight.

It drops to 9.5-10.5 at 65-70, 11-12 at 55mph.

Empty my Dodge Ram gets 13 to 16 mpg. Towing this trailer I get between 7.4 and 9.3 mpg. I guess you could say that the trailer effects fuel mileage significantly.
