At the same time it might not need a thing. There is not much to those trucks. The weakest link is the TTB front end. Swap it for a D60 and you will be golden like a shower.
or just get a f350.
Thats not always an option. Especially when buying an older truck. If he likes this truck then it would be cheaper to put a D60 in this one than find an F350, pay more for it and still have to do mods.

My friend its a mechanic and will go with me to check out out. The only good thing about a regular cab, I wouldn't have to hual my friends around, someone else would have to drive for once.
