scotty you can do ledz that will match the rest of the factory illumination? color and brightness?

did some looking they can be replaced. I did have a link to repair instructions, but the link is dead now. I'll do a little more looking

Ebay has switches was like for about $25 shipped. $100 for all 4.

Found this:

disconnect the battery, wait 5min (for the airbag) remove the airbag, pop out the buttons from inside the wheel, they are just pushed in the spokes of the wheel. The only problem getting them out is with the wire harness attached to them. It's short so you have to carefully wiggle them around to get them out far enough to get to the wire harness. Once you have them out you can carefully dissassemble them (they are just clipped together, pop out the circuit board where the bulbs are soldered on. Use a small soldering iron to remove the bulbs and don't lose the little white sockets from the bulbs (you will re-use them). Radio Shack should have some micro lamps # 272-1092 (two per pack and each button contains two bulbs). Re-attach the bulbs to the sockets, (there will be two styles of sockets used if you do them all) and re solder them to the boards.

You can pop them right out with a butter knife pretty easily. Getting them back in is a PITA tho because its no slack in the wiring harness. Its a bitch to plug them back in.
