Well, each year during my Spring Break I give my truck a good wash, wax, and throw on my summer wheels. This spring break will be no different but much more extensive! I'm pulling the pinstripe off the sides (never was a real fan but never wanted to put in the effort to deal with it). In addition to that, the truck will be getting its first machine polish.

I'll post my thoughts and how things go! :tmc:

Looks like you got a nice kit, it will take some practice to get used to it. I have been using way too much product myself. Remember to spray a little Detail Spray on the pad and it will rejuvenate the product without having to add more actual product. Have fun and I'm sure you will be more than happy with the results.

You can come on down to Indy and do mine if you want

I'm actually in Indy for the week. This is how I've chosen to spend my spring break. :dunno:

I got the pinstripe removed - which was a pain. Feels like my fingers might start bleeding haha. It came off clean with no paint fade so step one is done.

I've done three major details on my truck and I still use too much product.

Alright, did a bit more.

As can be seen by this photo, the pinstripe as well as some of the swirls. Both will be gone soon.

This is right before it got it's bath for everything yet to come. Note that the pinstripe has been removed!

Once I got it cleaned up and dried off, I went to town with the clay bar and it was disgusting how much contamination that it picked up. The roof was really bad as well as the underside of the rockers. I should have gotten mudflaps 4.5 years ago...but that is what it is now. As I was working my way around the truck, I decided to go ahead and strip the CHEVROLET off the tailgate. A neighbor of mine had a 3M stripe off wheel that he let me borrow and it is ridiculous how quick of work it made compared to taking the pinstripes off.

So now I just need to get at it with the polisher. I did a small test section on the hood and I think one pass with the yellow, orange, and white will do everything I need it to do. It's too cloudy to see all the fine swirls so I want to wait another day or two and hopefully I'll be able to see them better.
